The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner commented recently. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a couple people make a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
